Our new and innovative OUTBOARD yellow guide stripes, sewn on 9’-6” centers, are becoming much more popular with semi-drivers than the old style centered guide stripes that are sewn 8’-3” on center. This is because most trailers today are 8’-6” wide. Then when you swing the double doors open the trailers are almost 9’-6” wide from the driver’s perspective.

Dock Shelters

Dock shelters are enclosures around loading dock doors that create a perimeter seal around the outside of the trailer. They help to protect people, product, and the building’s controlled environment from the outside elements. The curtains have fiberglass stiffeners sewn into them so they apply pressure to the sides and top of the trailers. A dock shelter provides FULL ACCESS to the back opening of the trailer. This FULL ACCESS allows the forklift operators to do their job more efficiently without any interference from the dock shelter.

In general, the benefits of a dock shelter are many. By their design they are able to fit larger dock doors and service a wide variety of trailer heights and sizes. They are also less susceptible to damage from daily wear and tear since they are not designed to be compressed by the trailers like dock seals.

Our Dock Shelters come in two different frame constructions:

  • The rigid frame dock shelter utilizes a rigid, treated wood framework with white translucent panels covering all three sides. These translucent panels allow light to enter the loading dock area for improved operator and cargo safety.
  • The soft-side dock shelter incorporates a high-density foam frame in place of the rigid wooden frame. The benefits of the foam frame are numerous.
    • Better insulation around the trailers parked at the docks
    • Impactable foam side frames – Means less damage by backing trailers
    • No Steel Frame guards required
    • Easily replaceable side curtains
